When you follow a dream you make yourself very vulnerable. You are putting so much faith in yourself. You are taking a risk by showing the world who you really are and what you really want. It's emotional. Self-doubt tries to creep in from every corner and becomes your greatest enemy. You start to ask yourself the most annoying questions like...
It's funny how quickly you can fluctuate between highs and lows. In the same day, or even in the span of a few hours, you can feel some of your highest highs and then some not so fun lows. I've really been feeling that this week. We recently received some really positive news that excited and energized me, but just around the next bend was a giant load of self-doubt.
I have been leaning into faith more than I ever have before. For me, I've found that doing small things to reaffirm my faith in my goal really helps. I light candles and say little prayers over them. I have crystals that I choose to believe have powerful energies. I have started exploring meditation. Most importantly though, I write down affirmations + manifestations.
I like to start my affirmations with "I am..." It really helps me amp myself up and build confidence.
I start my manifestations with "I am so happy and grateful now that..." to help me visualize accomplishing my goals.
Reading has also become a huge source of comfort. I just started reading One Million Followers by Brendan Kane and have really been enjoying his approach and mindset behind social media.
It's interesting to go after a dream with a creative partner. David has been my rock and the best partner in life I ever could have imagined for myself. It's wonderful that in moments of self-doubt we have each other to lean on. It can also be a tricky line to walk. Since we are going after a dream that is so close to both of our hearts, we often have similar self-doubts. We build each other up through these moments and reassurance is key.
This week has been a journey, but at this moment I am feeling grounded and confident. So to all of my fellow dreamers pushing themselves to make their goals a reality, you're not alone. Keep going!
