Deau Eyes at Home in Color

I photographed an intimate portrait session of my friend Ali, an insanely talented musician known as Deau Eyes, in her home using a Canon R5, an 85mm lens, and a Nanlite FC-120C with a projection attachment (PJ-FMM19).

To give the photos a softer, more nostalgic vibe, I used the Prism Lens FX Lucid Dream filter to add a subtle dreamy effect.

I originally shot this session with my camera set to Monochrome mode, so I could only see the images in black and white while shooting. But since I was photographing in RAW, all the color data was still there when I imported the photos. And because I’m a huge fan of color, I couldn’t resist editing these images in color too.

Now, you can compare and contrast to decide which you like better—color or black and white. [Click here to view the black and white images.]
